Kargil/Ganderbal, Apr 24 (KNO): The Srinagar-Kargil road remained closed for the 8th consecutive day on Monday following snowfall and snow avalanches along the Zojila Pass, officials said. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the Srinagar-Kargil road was closed on April 17 owing to fresh snowfall and avalanches that buried several vehicles. He said the men and machinery of Project Vijayak with their tireless efforts to link the Srinagar -Leh National Highway got closed a few days ago due to heavy snowfall. A large number of vehicles have been stranded in the Sonamarg area since the road was closed.
